An AU based off the Avatar: The Last Air-bender and Legend of Korra series. The Fandomly members take up roles where they control one of the four powerful elements that make up the world. In the great multicultural centre known as Republic City, these people of very different background and ability meet and find their destinies colliding with one another. Friendships forms, rivalries break out, and new dreams are made along the way as the plot unravels itself in this mysterious bustling city.
The idea was originally thought of earlier by Care. During picspamming of our Zodiac signs from this blog on tumblr, several people spammed the pictures giving basic characteristics of their sign, and eventually Mik asked if we eventually started an ATLA or Legend of Korra AU, whould she get to be a water bender? Other people agreed with the idea and it became an AU for the fandomly. It's still in the planning stages, and apparently Rabbit was one step ahead of everyone and already made her commsona for the AU during the Korra release.
About[]
Since Aang, at minimum a full cycle of Avatars have been and gone through all elements, setting us somewhere in the 24th century. New and unimagined technologies are available, taking priority in this time and age. While benders still have an important role in keeping their society going with their abilities, the advancement in technology is taking up these jobs as well.
Four generations of air benders breeding have passed, continuing the steady repopulation of that race. While still only a small group compared to the other races, there is enough of them for Pro-Bending Tournaments - one of the most world reknown sports - have recently allowed air-benders to join their teams. Progress towards equality and peace continues under the guidence of the new avatar, all of this change centring in Republic City.
